“I’m sorry Jin. I can’t do this anymore. I don’t wanna lie to you.” Rie fights the tears that were threateningly close to falling.
The smile form Jin’s face immediately turning into a frown.
“I’m not good for you, Jin.”
Jin went over to Rie and hugged her tight. “Rie. .please don’t do this.”
Rie pushed Jin and shouted, “You don’t get it do you?! YOU JUST DON’T! I don’t want to hurt you anymore! I. .I love someone else.”
Jin’s world suddenly fell apart. “Who?”
Rie looked away from Jin. “Yamapi,” whispers Rie.
“YAMAPI?! Of all the people Rie! Why him?! Why my best friend?!” Jin tried to fight off the tears too but as soon as the tear drops that Rie were keeping fell down from her face, Jin’s couldn’t be stopped too.
“I’m really sorry.” Rie looked down.
“I’m going to kill that fucking bastard!” Jin started to storm away then he felt a small pair of hands wrap around his waist.
“Please don’t hurt him. He doesn’t love me the way I love him. I don’t think he loves me at all. He didn’t do anything wrong.” Rie hugged onto Jin tight. She was afraid that if she let go, Jin would go after Pi.
Jin took a deep breath and exhaled. Besides Rie, Yamapi and Ryo were the only people Jin ever loved. If it wasn’t for Rie, he would have confessed to Yamapi before but Rie took his heart away and now she’s saying that her heart belongs to Yamapi. Ryo was a different story. Ryo was Jin’s first crush. Back in high school, Ryo was the one who always had Jin’s back.
Jin laughed. He laughed at how fucked up the situation was. He laughed because despite the fact that he so desperately wanted to talk to Yamapi and have Pi console him but then again, he couldn’t.
“I hate you. . .I hate you!” Jin stormed away from the house and grabbed his phone. He dialed the first person that came in mind. .Ryo
“Yo! Jin! What’s up?” Ryo was laughing and having fun and Jin didn’t want to ruin it but fighting with his Rie always made him sad. At first it was simple fights but it turned so miserable. They never agreed on anything anymore and Jin knew why.
“*sniff* Ryoooo. .” Jin sat down the sidewalk and placed his hands on his head, crying.
“Jin, what’s wrong? Where are you? I’ll come get you.” Ever since they were in high school, Ryo had always had a secret crush on Jin. He just didn’t want to admit it to him because he had cherished their relationship. He didn’t want to ruin it by just saying things he shouldn’t.
“Ryo, I feel so sad. I dunno what to do anymore.” Jin tried his best to stop his tears but his eyes had a different idea, with each word he says, more tears fall from his eyes.
“Jin. .don’t cry. .I’ll come meet you at my house. I’m going home right now. Wait for me okay?” Ryo’s heart ached to hear Jin cry. He didn’t want Jin hurting.
“H..ha..hai..” Jin stood up and took his motorcycle to go to Ryo’s house.
I swear I dunno what’s wrong but I don’t like hearing Jin like this. Maybe he and Rie had another fight. I hope he stops crying. I might cry seeing him like that.
Ryo drove quickly, passing through numerous houses at such a fast speed. He rushed and made his way to see his house. As soon as he saw Jin sitting by the stairs of his house, his heart ached. Jin was sitting down with his head bowed down, obvious tears falling from his face. He was shivering, not from the cold but from the sobs that continued to come.
Jin lifted his head and saw Ryo coming towards him. His heart ached more; he ran towards his best friend and hugged him tight. He wanted to forget he ever met Rie.
“Ryo. . it hurts so much. .” cried Jin as the tears continued to fall from his eyes.
“I know. .I know. .” Ryo hugged Jin back, his hands gently rubbing Jin’s back. He wanted to sooth him. He wanted to make Jin smile. He slowly pulled himself away from Jin and took Jin’s hand, leading them inside the house.
As soon as the door closed, Ryo dragged the still crying Jin to the sofa and made him sit down.
“I know you don’t wanna talk about it but Jin, could you please tell me what happened?” Ryo sat down beside Jin, hands still on his back.
Jin sat up and started to open his mouth but the words just wouldn’t come out. Just thinking about it made him break down, Rie had been his life. She had been everything that he had lived for but she didn’t love him anymore.
“R. .ryo, Rie. .she. .” Ryo gently pats Jin’s back, urging him to continue. Jin opens his mouth once more, “Rie told me she doesn’t love me anymore. She told me that she loves Yamapi.”
“What?! That Baka! I’ll kill Pi for this! I swear I will!” Ryo stood up only to be pulled back by Jin. “Don’t bother. . he doesn’t love her. She hasn’t even confessed to him yet.”
Ryo hugged Jin tight. “Don’t cry anymore. Don’t cry because of those bastards. I don’t want to see you sad. Stop crying Jin.”
“Ryo. . .” Jin leaned into Ryo’s hug more, listening to the soft heartbeats of Ryo. He always calmed down when Ryo was near him.
Jin, please stop crying. I can’t tell you directly how I hate to see you like this. I want to tell you everything but I don’t want to freak you out. I promise you; I’ll protect you. I promise you, you’ll never cry like this again. Jin. . I love you..
Ryo really wanted to say these words but the only thing that came out his mouth was “Jin. . .”
Jin stared at Ryo, looking at his eyes. Jin had always loved Ryo’s eyes. He loved how he could see himself through them. Ryo made Jin feel like he was the only one Ryo could see.
“Ryo, Arigatou.” He leaned in for another hug; Ryo wrapped his arms around Jin. “You’ve always had my back. Ever since, we were in high school. I was always teased as girly because of my hair but you stood up for me. You made me feel safe.”
Ryo laughed at the memory, hugging Jin tighter. “I remember and that was because I didn’t want anyone to bully my only cute kouhai. Do you still remember what I told you?”
Jin blushed at the thought of these words. He remembered them clearly.
“Ryo-senpai, *sniff* . .Why. .why does everyone hate me?” Jin looked at Ryo with teary eyes.
“Jin. . no one hates you. They tease you because they’re jealous of you.” Ryo looked into Jin’s eyes and smiled.
“They hate me. .they hate me. .no one loves me. .” Jin cried louder and louder.
“Mou~ Bakanishi! Stop crying. They might hate you but remember Ryo-senpai’s here and I’ll never hate you.” Jin smiled as he looked into his senpai’s eyes.
“Yakusoku?” asked Jin. Ryo nodded and ruffled Jin’s hair.
“Boku ga iru. . boku ga kimi wo mamotte ageru. .eien ni. . “ (I’m here. . I’ll protect you. .forever)
Jin smiled and faced Ryo, “Boku ga iru. Boku ga kimi wo mamotte ageru. Eien ni.”
Ryo blushed at Jin’s word. It was what he said to Jin when they were young but hearing it come from Jin’s mouth made him blush. “Uhn! So stop crying Jin. I’m here. I’ll protect you.”
Jin nodded slowly and smiled. “You always know how to make me feel better Ryo. I’m glad you’re my best friend. You make me smile in the weirdest of ways. Seeing you just make me feel better. Arigatou Ryo.”
If only I meant something more Jin. I don’t want to be just your best friend. I want to be your ONLY best friend. I want to be your lover. I want to be yours, Jin.
Ryo sighed and leaned onto his best friend’s shoulder.
Minutes passed, then hours and soon it was morning. They had fallen asleep in their awkward hug. Opening his eyes, Ryo smiled as he saw Jin’s sleeping figure wrapped in his arms.
“Ohayou Jin,” whispered Ryo.
“Ohayou. . . “ Jin slowly opened his eyes and saw Ryo smiling at him. He suddenly remembered the events that happened last night. He remembered how he had come crying to Ryo AGAIN and how he had comforted him and made him smile. Most of all, he remembered Rie. He remembered her smile and it made his heart ache.
“Let’s go eat Jin. What do you want for breakfast? I’ll make you anything you want.”
Jin smiled and stood up, following Ryo into the kitchen. “I want TAMAGO,” says Jin. He quickly sat behind the counter and watched Ryo as he took the egg out of the refrigerator and cracked it open.
Jin was always amazed at how Ryo could cook that good. “Waaa! I’m so excited! Ryo-chan always makes the best food,” smiles Jin.
“You rascal,” laughed Ryo. “Just be sure to it all up.”
Jin nodded and smiled a huge smile. “Ne Ryo, could we go somewhere today? I want to go out for awhile.”
Ryo looked at his watch and smiled, “Great! I have a movie I want to see. Would you come with me?”
Jin looked at Ryo and said, “Mochiron!”
Ryo smiled and continued cooking the eggs that Jin wanted. After cooking, he immediately placed them into an empty plate and gave them to Jin.
Jin took the plate and grinned, “ITADAKIMASU!” He took a few bites and smiles, “UMAI! As expected, Ryo! You’re the best cook ever!”
Ryo laughed at Jin’s childishness. “Hai hai. .arigatou!”
Jin continued to eat finishing all the food prepared by Ryo. Ryo just stared at him, watching him take a bite out of the food, chewing and swallowing then repeating the process.
He’s beautiful!
Jin looked over Ryo, blushing as he saw that Ryo was staring at him. “Do you need something?”
Ryo smiled at him and laughed, “You look cute!”
Jin felt himself become hot with Ryo’s words. He was probably as red as a tomato but he doesn’t mind. Ryo looked over at Jin and saw that he was blushing. He laughed and messed Jin’s hair, “KAWAIIIII! I made you blush!”
Jin swatted Ryo’s hand away pouting at Ryo’s words. Ryo’s heart continued to palpitate as he looked into Jin’s pouting face. DAMN! You’re real CUTE Jin!!
