I guess this "holiday" is a big deal here in the city. I really, really don't like it. Supposedly you can't really even go out at all in the city because it's too crazy and dangerous. I'm going to go out tonight, but I am thoroughly annoyed with it all. Period.

No one wakes up looking their best. For most of us, it takes a little while to get up to speed; we've got to shower, shit, fix our bedheads, and so on before we're ready to put our best faces forward. I love it when it's cold and snowy; I am one of the few who don't complain all winter. I enjoy every minute of it-until the final month or so. The first few hints of spring in late February-a warm breath of wind, a bit of birdsong-make me hopeful and impatient for the whole deal, so every subsequent bit of frost or patch of ice becomes slightly frustrating. Does this sound familiar? You've been venturing happily into the unknown for ages now, but just a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel would probably have you sprinting for it. Am I right? Well, get ready to run, because just such a glimpse should glimmer forth this week.
