Children in a service can be wonderful. Or they're a disaster. In a wedding, however, they can only be a distraction from the happy couple. Everyone looks at the kids because they're either so darned adorable or making such a scene that the bride and groom just can't compete.

Celia Rivenbark's book that I referenced is worth buying just for the title piece. She also has a good piece about over-achieveing stay-at-home moms and the Atkins diet.

The latter I don't see any problem with, no more than children at any other church service. The former, I can see how it can be distracting.
