I'm taking a break from writing my essays for one of my finals. I've been having a serious mental block all day, and I'm sad it took me over five hours to write four measly pages. There is an internship in New York that I could have taken last summer, but chose to remain here in Alaska because I wasn't ready to go away. I know eventually I'll have to, but I really hate the thought of leaving my family. Also you're exactly right, summers are excellent in Alaska, it seems silly to go away. I definitely need to think about this.

Ya know, aside from climate and cityscape, NY isn't much different from CA though. =\

I'm sure you'd be welcome (and comfortable) in any of the upper mid-western states (though MN and MI are rather gun-hostile), and if you're tired of the cold there's always the South; though that's not helpful if you're trying to escape mosquitos... =)
