I'm sorry that your birthday- not to mention Easter- was so bad for you. For whatever it's worth, I can sympathize.
My mom's always been a nag-o-matic with those who live under the same roof...but I've learned that in short-term visits- now that I've been gone for a while- she's fine around me.
Both sides undergo changes in attitude and personality as time moves forward. I think it's some unspoken rule that once we (which applies to the parents AND the kids alike) reach a certain age, it's probably a good idea for the kids to move out- or at least stop hanging around as much.
Indeed, and she's making that absolutely possible. Today, after she told me she's divorcing my dad, she kicked me out of the house. Cassandra's up next. I think we'll both be living in Denali this summer, which should work out for the most part. If not, then we'll figure something out.
