Wow,  I wish I'd had a camera on Saturday afternoon.   My sister and I were in Monrovia,  a city near Pasadena.   We had some time to kill,  so I took a meandering drive up Myrtle Avenue toward the foothills.   We were looking at the nice big Victorian-style homes when I saw a pair of animals walking up ahead,  in the middle of the street.   At ( Read more... )

Oh dear...

Poor things are probably running out of territory. We even have a few foxes and a coyote running down our suburban street now and again.

Yeah, the newer housing tracts keep encroaching on the wildlife...I saw a coyote late one night by the house next door (and we don't live in a rural area).

The deer around here only come out at night, so I seldom get to see them. We also have coyotes and my husband spotted a bobcat the other night when he was mowing the pasture. Poor animals have nowhere to go away from people.

Well, the spot where the deer were wandering wasn't extremely close to the hills. But we haven't had much rain, so maybe they were looking for some grass to munch on.
