I haven't been to the museum in ages. We used to take our students every couple of years...but since I don't have the school anymore, I guess I don't have a good excuse ;)

I wonder if your own kids would be interested. Although I did see a lot of kids who were too young to really appreciate it. (And some guys who were obviously dragged there by their girlfriends or wives. :>)

I'd just read the Smithsonian Rock and Gem guidebook before I went there, so it was cool to see the real things on display. It's hard to believe some of them are real, like the minerals that form cube shapes on a rock mass.

You read a book in another language? That's mucho impressive. I tried to read Duras in French class but...well...I was never good at French.

Thanks. :>) Yeah, I think French might be tougher. But written language is a little easier for me to figure out than rapidly spoken language! And I've picked up some slang and other useful expressions from Spanish soap operas. :>)

I think a lot of people on my friends' list have jumped over to Facebook and Twitter. And, yeah, summer has been slower (I should be blogging more often myself...).
