The other day, instead of buying regular marinade at the supermarket, I bought dry rub. The husband promptly whipped out his cell phone, exclaimed, "I LOVE DRY RUB!" and then clicked his phone shut. I died laughing. *g

(And no, you are right, it's not just a tv show, but man, is it so normal to be this attached to something like this 2 years on? I mean, I adore BtVS and Angel and I'll rewatch whenever possible, but I never get like THIS about them!)
B and I quote many, many things from WW all the time. This is just the latest and cutest of them. ;)
I always get so caught up in the newness of S1-2 or the angst and kissage in S6-7 that I sometimes forget how AWESOME some of the middle seasons were. I need to remember to watch them more. Because, damn, I'm missing allllll of them so much lately and eps like this are why.
It's like your friends moved away and forgot to give you their new address :( But hey, since you are rewatching one of the best episodes - how about a post-ep fic? Or internal conversation fic? Or hot and heavy AU fic? Or...any TWW fic....?That would be the best medicine to cure the tww missing blues.
I LOVE this episode. I love all the references you mentioned. My favorite quote is "300 IQ points between them, they can't find their way home. I swear to God, if Donna wasn't there, they'd have to buy a house." Best EVER !
See, that's one of the obvious ones to me (Because DUH! I'm gonna remember all the J or D scenes and references ;)) but its the other ones that I've forgotten (like Charlie giving Anthony the beat down, or Sam asking Bartlet if Debbie was funny, and Bartlet realizing she was the one) that made me wibble with longing and love.
It's like... chocolate cake isn't *just* food, it's everything you remember from all the *other* times you ate chocolate cake. Like that. TWW isn't just a TV show, it's all the happy memories of all the times I watched it and talked about it and developed my little B4A family.
Well, not the cake part (which you are entirely right about!) but the part where watching the ep made me not just awww and squeee, but made me want to hop online as soon as it was over, start posting all about it , discuss it with my friends and everything like I used to.
I feel the same way about it and I never even got to do the post-ep rehashing with friends ; I only saw my first episode last summer.
The quoting thing makes me feel warm and fuzzy, too... but it's even better when someone says or does something West Wing-y unintentionally. For example, my fiance and I were recently at a hotel and I had to take the room key away from him because he was swiping it too fast. I was grinning like an idiot but who cares? Fandom popping up in real life makes me happy.
I also slip in WW quotes when talking to people who aren't fans, just for my own personal amusment.

Why did they have to moooooove?
(Ok, I know they had to, and it WAS time, but still... SNIFF.)
Sadly, the days of being inspired so easily are long gone for me. But thanks for the pick-me-up.

But it represents so much more than that.
