Why I don't have a critique group

 I know almost all writers have one. I SHOULD have one. I probably need one.  I'd love to meet once a month or a week at a coffee shop and chew the fat and critique work. I've had beta readers and critique partners over the years, but no one that's really hung around. It's not that I don't like to critique - and I'm pretty good at it, to be honest ( Read more... )

You do what you can, when you can. No one can do it all. I found a crit group BETTER and less expensive, demanding, and more relative than the old MFA. Why waste time writing papers when you can be writing novels? Keep to your writing, build up a body of work, then when other time suckers resolve themselves, join a crit group. Char Bennardo

Oh gods yes. I am getting my MLIS; I don't see the need for an MFA, though it's nice for some. As soon as I find that time I am joining a group. :)
