I had a horrible, but not unusual experience as I drove home this evening around 7 on the 280. There was plenty of sunlight left, which enabled me to see, well ahead of me, an unfortunate doe that walked into the four-lane freeway. Oh, no. It's so horrible when animals meet traffic, and I'm so sorry you were there for it. I can't believe that people don't slow down or stop when animals are on the road, even if only for their own protection.

I've been in or near involved vehicles a few times, and it's horrifying. You can't help but grieve and rage.
