Saturday is errands day and I needed to head down to a pet supply store in Redwood City to get a certain type of cat food. It's also the only place I can get the chicken feed that I use as cat litter. That's something that I think is often forgotten when thinking and dealing with the homeless. Some of them have pet dogs (and possibly cats, but I don't see cats hanging around), which are important to them. Yes, if we lived in an impersonal world where everyone only thought of the bottom line, then they should get rid of the dogs. But really? No. They've lost everything else, and the dogs won't lose them. Good for you.

i know a homeless couple with a kitten. the kitten just kind of rides around on the girl's shoulder. it's pretty cute, actually.
