So, my dad mentioned as part of his christmas wishlist the following:

"My Great Grandfathe was in the 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers) and at the end of his twenty years service he received a "Long Service and Good Conduct Medal" in 1891. I thought it would be nice to have a replica medal with ribbon if they weren't too expensive. I should think ( Read more... )

Yes, they seem to have the Long/Meritorious Service ones back to George V but not before.

That was my dad's words. I'm personally thinking its a cool present. The ones on the site that taimatsu listed above were 35 quid and I don't consider that to be beyond the realms of possibility. If you can get me a ballpark cost though then I can worry about whether its too much later. :)

You can get miniature replicas (eg. here), but I can't find any full sized ones.
