hey, is there any way to set LJ to NOT display twitters? I've removed i think 5 people from my friends list so far cause i cant stand reading their twitters and now more people it seems are linking them to LJ. is removing them the only way?

create user filter is about the only thing I can think of.

Complain about it on LJ; most twitterers apparently have no idea that spamming their twitters around could possibly be annoying. Threaten to unfriend peopl. I've seen this exact social censure work on multiple occasions.

Twitterers: if we wanted your crap, we'd sign up for twitter. This is the equivalent of having all those MySpace/FaceBook updates posted to your friendslist.

Somehow this whole thing irritates me. People will read long blog posts on LJ, but if it's a series of short updates in one blog post from LoudTwitter, they complain about it to no end.

It has nothing to do with the Twitter service, either. It's a service called LoudTwitter (not affiliated with us) that sends tweets from their account to LJ. They signed up for it. Do not complain to LJ or Twitter about this, but complain to your friends, or, unfriend them on LJ.

i just find the short lists of pointless items mixed in with the longer, slightly more interesting LJ posts really annoying.

and right, if i wanted to read yer twitter id become a twit.

anyway: public announcement: i delete folks from my list who send post alot of twits in LJ. in case you care.
