Hahaha. The easiest way to circumvent the nytimes.com registration requirement... put google.com in the Referer header. This even works for subsequent pages, or the "printer-friendly" version of an article. The manual I'm reading proudly asserts: "100% POST CONSUMER RECYCLED PAPER". Trouble is, I'm reading it in Acrobat... but I guess 100% of zero is indeed zero.
