No, really, I can. It’s not like it’s the first time I’ve been to Honami’s apartment; I used to come here all the time. Of course, I didn’t have a seven-year-old son waiting for me back then.
I slap my face a couple of times. I need to pull myself together, this isn’t just about me… it’s about all of us. And I need to start realizing that. So I take a deep breath, get ready to ring the bell, and…
“Oh, she’s not there.” A middle-aged lady gave me a sympathetic look. “Moriyama took off about two weeks ago on some big case-- at least I think it’s big, since she had me drop her son off at her parents’ house.” She clucks her tongue, going on about how single mothers have to balance work with family… but I’m not really listening at that point.
I wait at the bottom of the stairs, just around the corner. I don't like sneaking around to follow Domon-san but I really don't think he should be alone just now. He looks so upset.
For one second, I'm surprised to see Sion waiting for me... but of course he would. I haven't exactly been the stablest person ever lately; of course he'd make sure I didn't do anything stupid.
"Hey." I climb down the stairs until I'm next to him. "I guess you're her to make sure I don't punch a wall or break down or anything?" My voice sounds hollow, but I'm too tried to try to cover it up with a smile.
I shrug uncomfortably, wishing again that I could just hug him and make it all better. "If you want to punch a wall, you can, I guess, Domon-san. But I don't want you to hurt yourself." I gulp. "Same with, uh, breaking down. If you need to, you should do it. But I hope you don't."
I put a hand on his arm and peer up into his face anxiously. I don't know what to say to him and I'm sure I'm getting it all wrong. "We'll find her," I say softly.

Sounds like Honami-san isn't home.
I hope he's not angry when he sees me here.
