Sometimes it seems like happiness is cheap and expendable when you don't have to work to overcome the negativity that inevitably lingers in your mind.

Its almost as if being miserable and unhappy yields a higher gratification, because you then have a goal and a vision of that happiness. However, its a romanticized, hyperbolized one
