All in all, it seems like the game companies came out on top. Sure, the actors got a 36% increase in minimum pay, but they didn't get residuals, which was the biggie here. Oh, and the pay is per four-hour block, not hourly.

Serves me right for not reading the whole article. On Slasdot games the post said:
"increases minimum pay for voice actors to $695 per hour immediately".

Still a bunch of money. I don't see why we have to use unionized voice actors, especially since Im sure there are a lot of starving actors/students who would bend over backwards for that kind of pay.

I agree... I mean, one of the best anime dubs of all time, Starblazers used entirely non-union work, and it ruled over most of the other dubs before or since.

Also, Working Designs uses voice actors from local theater companies (non union), and some of them are just as good if not better than some of these union actors (oh, and that Jenny Stigile is HOT!).

Outsource work to India! With the fake accents, noone would be able to tell the difference! Just like the call centers.
Otherwise, just give them the finger. Unions are born for one reason and one reason only. To be crushed under my boots. Just like the airline union and UAW. *insert maniacal laughter*
