Pretty much sum it up.
In short BF2 gives you stories to tell because of its multi layerd gameplay and varied types of action. You can play it many ways, unlike most other online FPS games. And EA gives toothy BJ's.

So that's why it hurts after I play. In my pants.
You're spot on with the "stories to tell" comment. After playing for awhile you end up with a bunch of heroic squad tales that are completely boring to all except other BF2 players.
