I get older and the otakon atendees get younger.

a point best brought home to me in my silk screen class last monday. the two (faintly annoying) teenage girls? both went to otakon. did they cosplay? why yes, yes they did. the nicer, less annoying, cuter one was some yellowish animal... she had ears... and a tail, i over heard.

when the mom came to pick them up she was like, "they went to otakon this weekend, it's made them kind of crazy."

and all i could think was of all the folks i know who go to otakon... and that it seems like a reason to get together and drink your self stupid. then i thought: "what's the likelihood was that these girls got drunk this weekend? and who knows what else... for that matter. please god, just not with anyone i know."

and when i have kids, they aren't staying overnight at a con until they are at least 18... maybe older. ...yeah.
