Breda/Fury Fluff

Feb 19, 2007 22:09

I decided that I'd challenge myself to write soemthing complete in thirty minutes. This is the result. I'm not sure if I like it but here it is. I especially like the idea of Roy, Havoc and Heymans staggering and singing.

Title:Normal
Pairing: Breda/Fury
Rating:PG-13 ish
Spoilers: End of series I guess.
Warnings :Fluff and drunks

Cain held his breath and watched in amazement as three drunken men listed far enough to the right that they should’ve toppled over. Heymans and Roy Mustang both leaned heavily on Jean Havoc who was, himself, completely smashed, and the threesome hitched a step and wavered forward then righted themselves and continued their meandering path past the stately homes and manicured lawns on the avenue that led to the Furher’s home. Said Furher, Roy, began singing and was joined by his cohorts in a rousing (albeit dreadfully off key) rendition of a bawdy song that made Cain blush.

He always went with them on this weekly night out, though he never drank more than one beer. Alcohol went straight to his head. Or rather his groin, considering that embarrassing interlude with Edward Elric in the bathroom of their favorite bar. The boy had been barely fifteen and, true to form, sure that he could drink with the men. That had been enough to insure Cain was never drunk again. Amazingly the owner of the establishment hadn’t thrown them out for good. Roy had vouched for his men and threw some extra cenz to the man and all was well.

“ Whoa!” Heymans exclaimed as he lost his footing and Cain caught his lover’s arm, steadying the bigger man. Havoc and Roy, having lost one third of their collective feet, teetered momentarily before sprawling on the side walk in front of Roy’s front door. Havoc’s body landed on top of the smaller man and Cain had to laugh as Roy’s arms and legs flailed.

“Get off me Lieutenant-Colonel Havoc.” Roy sounded more amused than angry.

“I will Chief…as soon as the ground stops moving.” And both of them laughed like giddy schoolgirls.

Jean rolled onto his back and Roy staggered to his feet. He grabbed Havoc’s collar and began dragging him to the door. ”He can sleep it off here ….Damn, where are my keys?”

As Roy fumbled in his pockets, the door opened and he bowed . “Mrs. Mustang, I presume.”

Riza pursed her lips and helped Roy to right himself. He kissed her lovingly on the cheek. She smiled at Cain. “Thanks for seeing him home … Yours doesn’t look he’ll make it much farther either…why don’t you stay here tonight?. And it’s no bother…There’ll be enough hangovers here tomorrow,” She nodded at her husband and Havoc, “One more won’t make any difference.”

Blushing, Cain accepted the offer even though he didn’t like sleeping away from home. Heymans was too heavy for him to support all the way to their flat. The taller man nuzzled his neck as Cain half carried him into the house and a stout woman wearing a frilly night cap, who he recognized as the housekeeper, helped maneuver his by now sleeping lover to a bedroom on the second floor and dropped him on the big bed..

Cain thanked her and began to undress Heymans. There were people who would think that this was a miserable way to spend an evening but Cain loved it as much as he loved the naked soldier who would snore too loud and take up more than his share of the bed. It was normal. Normal to go drinking with friends and comrades, normal to nurse his lover’s hangover, just normal. He’d spent his first years With Heymans living the extraordinary and he was glad that they, and indeed all of their friends, were finally able to have some peace.

Cain slid under the blankets next to his lover and sighed as a thick arm curled around his chest. All was right with the world.

“I love you Cain.”

Yes it was.
