I went undefeated for three rounds in a nineteen-man tournament (another player was undefeated as well), largely thanks to Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief (who won me three of my six games). All seven (!) rares were red, black, and colorless, and I played them all (never done that before)! I don't think I've ever spent less time deciding which colors

Thanks for the feedback and advice. It seems quite good, as you explain it. The only thing I am hesitant about removing is Essence Feed since I wanted to run all my Eldrazi Spawn generators. However, the only game I cast it, I could have won without it, so you may well be right about that.

It occurs to me now that I would have run Soulsurge Elemental if I had realized that my tokens count as creatures! Whoops. As for Vendetta, I think it may have been the last card I cut. I used the entire 30 minutes building my deck (time ran out as I was grabbing the basic lands). I had a really hard time paring down my list, which was a good sign!
