Oh, what's that Go-Go's song I'm thinking of?

I've been so overloaded with work lately that I haven't had time to mention good news and even better news. So, I only have time to tell you the good news, hee hee.

I'm going on vacation next week! Yay, vacation! A real-live, much-deserved, get-me-the-heck-away-from-this-office vacation.

To Sweden, no less! For a whole week! Hooray for me! ( Read more... )

Sweden ROCKS - a whole week just in Stockholm would be sublime. I highly recommend the waterfront, the Museum of Musical Instruments, the Museum of Dance History, and of course the Wigner Kama Sutra Sculpture Museum, although the latter is hard to find 'cuz the Official Tourism Board likes to deny it exists.

Oh, and I bet your accommodations are already planned, but there used to be a really cool IYHF hostel where you stayed in an old ship docked in the harbor.

Alas, I only get a day or two in Stockholm. Do you think if I asked a local person about the KS Sculpture Museum, they'd know where it is?

Hm...maybe, if s/he were disreputable enough. It's out in the suburbs in the hills, a red brick house, no markings on the outside but a plaque saying "Wigner Sculpture Museum," only it's not the same Wigner who did the fantastic sculptures in the big park downtown, it's his brother who sculpted every position in the KS instead.

If it's even still there, that is. I was there when I was 17, and Wigner's widow was running the place in his memory; it's possible it's history by now. Back then we found it via connections we made in the hostels, although these days the WWW may be all you need.
