I was gonna put Germany as a visited place, but I couldn't readily remember what city you were in, and briefly considered using "Wackadoodle-on-Rhine, Germany" ("Wackadoodle" being sorta similar-sounding to Oaxaca, you see), but it sounded a little too fake, heh.

I got my certification via the local soccer association, which is CYSA-South affiliated. IIRC, such programs are FIFA-approved, and are the track to becoming a professional ref. It takes time, training, experience, and passing a certain level of certificate levels to get there. I only did it a season, but it was fun. All I did was line ref for youth competitive league teams (U-13 to U-17) and center ref for some low-level kids' rec league teams, but it paid pretty well.

Of course, the sun exposure would be bad for my remaining goth cred, though the exercise would help with the boxy butt I've been sportin' since I quit smoking.
