This is the first time in forever I've been excited about a new laptop. It's actually the first time in 10 years that I've bought a new laptop. I have a dell d420 (heh) and it weighs in at 3.5 lbs and I didn't have to pay the vaio tax! It's also pretty buff for such a little machine. i managed to get linux on my desktop this summer, and i wanted to put it on my laptop, but i'm afraid i will seriously bork it if i try.

it won't. install ubuntu. Then everything will be fine. Trust me :)
besides, if it b0rks, fix it.
