This was a new and interesting type of story for you! Yay for trying new things! I'm glad that you were inspired to write something so gritty. I'm not sure I see where the prompt played a part in this story, but I hope that you continue to push your boundaries as a writer.

Oh YAY. I LIKE this one. The hard man.. a hard life. and then two quiet inner softening moments... the 'smile' of the disappeared man, and his assessment of a womans life condition. He 'felt' something for her as he'd not have made that assessment otherwise. It would've been just a sale. This guy has - humanity...

Thanks again Chuck, and ooh you do write some corkers. XXX Blue.

Having done my own research here, I am going to agree with Keppie. This is a very powerfully written piece, but you should have let people know it was fanfic. This was not a piece influenced by the game, it was a piece written within the game. Which is not an inssue per se, just something that should have been mentioned.

And I am curious as to how intimacy played a part here?

Thanks for the comments and the constructive criticism, everyone! The dystopian landscape that is taking the modern fiction world by storm really intrigues me, so that's why I decided to craft this story around a "bug" that was place in my head by the aforementioned game. I hope that the small moment of intimacy between Artyom and his customers came through as I intended! :)
