How do you do three 600 IM swims, each one faster than the last, when you barely have the strength in your body to take one more stroke, much less finish out the 25?

How do you keep going fast for two and a half hours, when your body is sucked dry after the first ( Read more... )

3, I have no answer for. Number five, however, I cracked tonight. The answer to the last question is to do butterfly kick to keep your legs up. Dave says that doesn't count, though, so perhaps it isn't the answer.

I SAW that!!!! Not allowed!!! All you have to do is..............just keep your feet up. LOL. Try dropping your head a little more.

But yes, I saw you dolphin kicking. And laughed. ;)

Actually, on pull sets that I can't make no matter how hard I push because I just don't. know. how to pull., I've experimented, honestly trying to figure out what I'm doing differently than everyone else that makes me so slow pulling. And I've narrowed it down to that my feet drop down so freakin' far that I'm just dragging myself back. And since the bend is in my hips, when I go to breathe my body twists into really contorted positions, making the shorts even worse than they should be. I've tried keeping my feet up, too, by putting my head down more, but they don't stay. What I was doing was stopping, letting my body float to the surface, and trying to take strokes without my legs sinking, but on the first stroke, even with the bouy at my feet, my feet end up about two feet below the surface. And according to Dave, my head's always way too far down already; any more would be even worse than how it already is. I'm figuring it out. :)

That butterfly kick sure does work! I was keeping up with Megan!
