Upping the difficulty

Just had an idea for a plot device that could be used in a computer RPG to increase replayability in a plausible fashion. This is inspired from seeing episodes of Stargate SG1 where they travel through the mirror to alternate realities. that is good. i'm gonna say that's a bit sandbox GTA ish (i know RPG games are NOT quite the same thing ;-) ) but i like the non-linearity.

hey! you could save maybe a few Earths and then go off for an afternoon hotwiring cars around the moons of Saturn.
or something.

your last sentence in particular is a good idea. that'd be an immense game..
