If you were invited to a wedding.
and you can't go.
Should you include a small monetary gift
when you send the card back to decline?
I think it would be rude if it wasn't included
because it did cost for them to make the invite,
It did cost them to send the invites out,
How many people don't have 2 dollars they could send.
What Do you think?

To quote Ms. Manners, An invitation is a request for your presence NOT your Presents. In other words, you are not obligated to bring a present to a wedding or other function to which you've been invited. If you are unable to go, and feel you want to send a congratulatory gift, do not send it back with the RSVP. Send a card with a check.

I agree. I'm sure they did put in money for the invitations and the wedding. I think not to do so would be a bigger insult than not attending.

well.... it depends on how close you are to the couple. and honestly, you're not obligated to give a gift just because you're invited. most people do, but you're not obligated to.

I was raised that if you are invited and you can't attend you still get a gift. It kind of sucks but its the decent thing to do.

thatsa tough one cause they may think the $2 is their gift. I would think anything should be sent seperate not with the rsvp
