It's (not so) complicated.

So, I’m on the plane back from Tokyo and Jim is sitting next to me.
I’m watching It’s Complicated.  It’s one of those films I would NEVER see in a theatre but since I’m trapped on a plane, I feel no shame.
BTW, I started with Alice in Wonderland and gotta say (OMG!  Sorry, just got to a scene with Alec Baldwin shirtless-homina homina homina!) anyways ( Read more... )

I think we are seeing more and more movies on getting older as the big baby boomer generation well... gets older. It is an interesting feeling getting past the growing up stage and going into the growing older stage. Mostly good but also with a bit of nervousness too LOL

I agree with you. And I totally feel cliche with all this navel gazing, but whatever.
LOL
I'm 39 and never considered myself to be part of the baby boomers. I'm full on Gen X. But as I and all my friends are getting older, we're all having the same conversations and I find it really interesting.
We are all realizing that suddenly we are no longer the youngest people in the room.
We are all discovering our new found "daddy-ness" Hot.
We're all creaking a little more.
And more often than not, we're saying things like, I just can't drink/smoke/do drugs like I used to anymore.
LOL
That and we're all going to sleep at 10pm.
Too funny.

It's funny. My friend Walter and I were discussing getting older and how suddenly we both have 20 year olds hitting on us. His theory is that since Gen X is so small and Gen Y is so big, there are fewer of us around and therefore, we're a commodity. Whoo hoo!
Hot daddyness, here I come. Plus, I think I'm aging pretty well. If I do say so myself. LOL

I liked It's Complicated and Up in the Air. Interesting story about how they had an army of people create the garden in It's Complicated.

I enjoy being 44. My grandmother is 94, my mother is 72 and still works full time so I am not looking to check out anytime soon.

This is a year of transition for me. I will be changing careers and going back to school to start something totally new. It is like being 18 again.

My advice is to take good care of your teeth, drink lots of water and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! :)
