So, I mentioned before that I wasn't feeling very Christmassy and part of it is because Jim and I have not been invited to any (or very few parties

I'd say until you specifically hear about people you've had over having their own parties, you should assume that they just don't throw parties. Lots of people around don't have the space, etc.
See? Dinner with friends is awesome! I think it's also people don't veer out of their usual everyday list of friends that they reaach out to. And I think that's kinda lazy.
See I don't buy that. I get people may not have a space that is good for parties or they may feel their place isn't nice enough to have people over (which is BS-your friends don't care) But there is no reason why people can't be invited over to play games. Or gather a group of people at a bar or a picnic or organize a hike, whatever. For me, it's more about feeding and parties cuz that's what I enjoy. But if I'm invited to go out for drinks, I'm all good with that too.
for years (10 of em) I poured my heart and soul into the bear club/scene. in 2004, I stepped down from the board (after a 6 year run). Thought I'd step back and see who would stay in contact. 6 years later, not a single contact has been made.
I don't blame the city/region, just chalk it up to the way it is.
See? and I don't go for "that's the way it is" either. There has to be a way to fix it or at least get over it and figure out sumptin else. I'm not looking to be the prom queen but come on people, let's try something. It's only going to benefit everyone.

Of course, they could hate all of us and we're just on the outs, but I don't think that's the case!
