Nope you're not a jerk you just don't know my powers. Thomas can attest to this, because he's seen me put together a seating chart for a "casual" dinner party. I know how to work my groups of people: Chatters-people that can talk to a rock. Black Holes-people that are dead space but are required inviting. Butterflies-people that can flit from one conversation to another without losing a beat. Blinders-those who are so specific in their interests that they can only speak to that. And of course there are just general "people" but I think this where the "thought" part of this comes in. You don't just invite friend A to party B. It doesn't work that easily. It takes thought and knowledge about the people and the event to really make it work. And it won't always work, but at least I'm trying.
I totally agree. I mean even at my party there was such a mix of people and I think that if you pull out a few and put them in different environments, it could be really fun. Hey, that's how I met Paul, Mark, Matt, Chip, Cowboy David et al.
