I lost my cell phone this morning. I had it at 3 AM when I was at snoqualmie casino. I left the casino at 4:30 AM. Around 6 Am at my house, I no longer had it. Ive called the number and looked around my house. Ive checked my car. Ive called the casino's security which handles lost and found, and had them check with the poker room. From our experiences, it's hard to get any deals when you are in a contract. We have AT&T too, and have lost many cell phones (we have a toddler and I am accident prone as hell) and haven't been able to get a good phone unless it was time to renew our contract.

We had the best luck with Ebay, in getting a nice phone for under $100. You should try and get it fixed asap, I think you have to call and say the phone is lost or stolen, and then there is a monthly fee (lame). You can probably keep the same number, but you we always had our sim cards and if you don't...I'm not sure how that works.
