I take it this is coming from experience?ive heard horror stories of ppl spending 100s of dollars on that thing.

Secondhand. Lots of secondhand, as everyone I know has Farmville or Sorority Life or Pioneerville or whatever else Zynga crafts in their evil game laboratory. :D I may or may not have bought a gift card so that someone could have the Lady Gaga ponycorn or whatever.
