1. Each JUMP member began to pair up with the person they would be rooming with at the hotel they were staying the night at. Yamada picked up one of the room keys in front of him, mentally claiming Chinen as his for the night.
"Ne, Chii."
"Mm?"
"Room with me?"
Chinen's eyes grew wide before becoming apologetic, "Sorry Yama-chan, Dai-chan asked."
Yamada had to admit, he was a bit shocked that Chinen didn't agree but even more so at his reason. "He's not going to be with Ryutaro? Why?"
"A fight I think? Maybe? Yeah. Ryu-chan was being mean. They'll be fine by tomorrow."
Yamada thought for a moment, "We can't just force them together now so they work it out?"
"But I want to be with Dai-chan."
Yamada was about to respond when Yabu called over telling them to take their things to their rooms.
"Yama-chan's jealous, he want's Chii!" Chinen sang, bouncing away.
"You wish." Was the best comeback Yamada could come up with as he followed Chinen into the elevator.
2. Chinen had somehow managed to convince everyone, except for Hikaru and Inoo for reasons Yamada would rather not dwell on, to go to the ice cream shop he claims to have seen on the way to the hotel. Yamada and company were presently seated on benches ice cream in hand, save for Yuto who was sprawled out on the grass apparently deciding to himself that the ladybug before him was more amusing than Keito and ice cream combined.
"Ryosuke~"
Yamada smiled when Chinen made to take on seat on his human chair, but it faded when he saw Daiki pull Chinen onto his own lap, whispering a "Chii~" into his ear. Chinen giggled. He giggled. "What the hell is he up to...?"
"He's trying to piss me off."
Yamada looked to his side, he had forgotten that Ryutaro was next to him and at that moment was a bit frightened at the dangerous expression he was wearing. "So Chii not being with me is all your fault."
When did Ryutaro's glare get so scary? "I don't exactly see Chinen complaining."
Ryutaro decided to ignore Yamada's incoherent grumblings.
3. Yamada watched his Chii and his so-called-friend whispering to each other for what seemed like an eternity to himself. Che... weren't they sharing a room? Couldn't they save this for when I'm not around? They have all night to-- no! No, definitely not. Yamada made a mental note to walk past their room that night.
Yamada was desperate. "Chii, you want to have some?" He tilted his strawberry cone in Chinen's direction.
Chinen looked from Yamada to Daiki to Yamada again. "No...Dai-chan has the same so I'll steal his."
"Oi! When did I agree to this?" Daiki complained, laughing.
"Eh? Dai-chan doesn't--"
"We should head back." Ryutaro interrupted. "It's late."
Yamada was quick to agree. Not just because of jealousy, no. The sun was setting after all.
4. "Wah! It got so dark so fast, ne!" They weren't back yet and it was already almost pitch black.
Chinen's eyes were covered by Daiki's hands, "Eh? Eh? I can't see~! It's REALLY dark now!"
"Boo!"
"Ahh!"
Yamada tried to ignore the boys and tried to concentrate on why it was taking them so long to get back.
"Daiki's a bully." Keito says in smooth English.
"I'm not! Don't think I don't know what you're saying! Don't underestimate me! Oi! Don't you chuckle at me!"
"Hey! Don't yell at him!" Yuto interjected.
Yamada had to admit he felt better that Daiki was trying to kill Keito (while running away from Yuto) rather than act all buddy buddy with his Chii. Oh, and the best part, "We're here."
Ryutaro snorted from beside him. "You sound relieved. You scared of the dark?"
"No way! I'm not scared at all!"
"'kay. Whatever floats your boat."
"Ryu-chan's being mean, ne." Chinen chirped.
Yamada smiled, draping his arm around Chinen's shoulders, "Like always."
"Eh? That is not true! I'm nice!"
"Of course Ryu-chan--" Chinen's eyes widened, Yamada knew why. Chinen loved walking through the revolving door. "Weee~"
Yamada giggled at his cuteness and walked with Chii towards the elevator that Yabu and Takaki had open for them. All of their rooms were on the same floor, after all. How did they get so far ahead of us? Yamada wondered.
Chinen shrugged off Yamada's arm when the elevator doors opened to let them off, much to his disappointment, and latched himself onto Takaki, giving him a cute "nighty night~" and a swift kiss on the cheek. A ritual he repeated for each member. That is, except for Yamada.
"Chii..." Yamada called, hoping that Chinen had just left the best for last. He hadn't.
Chinen was almost through the door to his room when he stopped to look at Yamada, "Gomen ne, Yama-chan. I'm tired. See you in the morning!"
Yamada was disappointed, to say the least.
"Come on, lover boy." Ryutaro pushed Yamada into their room. They were together due to their current... circumstances. "What's up with you today?"
"What's up with me? How about your boyfriend and my Chii?"
Ryutaro let out a short laugh, "Your Chii? You guys are... together?"
"Well... no I guess not, I mean..." Yamada could feel his face heating up.
"So Chinen isn't your property."
Yamada set his jaw and crossed his arms, "You don't seem to care very much, even though it is your boyfriend."
Ryutaro gritted his teeth. "That's different. Look, I'm just telling you, if Chinen doesn't know that you... if he doesn't know how can he fix it?"
Yamada hated when Ryutaro was right.
5. Yamada was woken up by an empty feeling. According to the clock next to his bed it was about two in the morning. Gah, no one's up... and he has to be up in four hours to leave. Well, he can't go back to bed on an empty stomach. He could have sworn he saw a vending machine in the lobby anyway, he grabbed some money and slipped out of the room quietly.
He wished the stupid elevator wouldn't ding so loudly when it opened. Seriously. Loud noises during complete silence creeped him out. He scanned the area for the vending machine he was sure he'd seen earlier. He found it. With a small boy standing in front of it, wearing a shirt too big, cute disheveled hair-- wait, Chinen?
He walked up silently behind the smalled boy, watching as he fumbled with the money in his hands. Yamada leaned over him and payed for whatever it was Chinen had been trying to buy.
"Yama-chan? You scared me for a second. I thought you were a creepy old man!" Chinen made a horrified face that Yamada couldn't help but chuckle at. "But Yama-chan is nice ne, not creepy!"
Yamada watched Chinen pick up the snacks he bought for him."Anou...Chii..."
"Hm?"
"Can we talk?"
"Yama-chan... I'm tired, can we maybe talk tomorrow?" Chinen turned and began walking away, not waiting for an answer.
+1. No. He can't just let him walk away! He had to say something. It was now or never, right? "Chinen." Forgetting his hunger, Yamada caught up to Chinen and tugged on his arm. "Talk to me."
"Yama-chan... okay."
Yamada took Chinen's hand in his, "You've been cold to me lately. It just... it makes me sad, seeing you act so close to other people and not me too. I miss your flirting. Chii, I... I like you."
Chinen blinked a few times. "You like me?" Yamada nodded. "Me? Me me me? Of all people, me?"
Yamada chewed on his bottom lip. "Is that bad?"
Chinen dropped the items he was carrying to hug Yamada instead, "No! It's good! Very, very good!"
"Chii... this is suffocating."
"Oops." Chinen loosened his hold but did not let go.
Yamada smiled, wrapping his arms around Chinen as well, "So," He breathed, "What does this mean?"
Chinen smiled devilishly, tilting his face up. Yamada bent down to meet him halfway and kissed him, their lips moving with each other's naturally.
Chinen slid his tongue along Yamada's bottom lip and leaned back, "It means you have to kick Ryu-chan out."
