Of course you are going to appreciate movies that mirror your own life, why dont you watch one that doesnt contain issues of sexual orientation , drugs, or promiscuity as a prevailing theme, and see if you can actually appreciate it? Its all too easy for us to enjoy movies that comfort us about our own existence, or mirror our inner thoughts and affect our actions, but the true test is, can we appreciate ones that are vasty different and dabble in topics that we cannot comprehend, or that we disagree with.
