Having watched Hot Fuzz before Shaun of the Dead, I much prefer Simon Pegg's second offering. Sure, they both had gore galore. Hot Fuzz felt better written and certainly was funny though and through. The plot twists were very well done and I for one am looking forward to the next Pegg and Frost movie. For now, I await 3D Beowulf :D

I haven't seen either of those movies... ^_^;

But I've seen shorts of Beowulf and it looks a bit cheesy. Is it true that the story is really old though?

Like any other production, the story gets jazzed up. Not that I'm complaining, it has enough CG pretend-skin for both sexes. Must be how it managed to score PG-13 rating despite front-on nudity.
