Afraid of the dark?

The child

Sleeps

Curled in a ball, with

Lost dreams

And

A forgotten doll.

The child

Sleeps

Never making a peep,

With eyes squeed

Shut

Hoping to see,

See a last

Speck of light.

The child

Sleeps

Forever alone.

That she did in months and months... With a poem/tale of a small child that sounds like it's hiding from something coming to get it while it lays in bed, hugging onto a small doll whishing that this thing would go away and the doll protect it ~suddenly English literature hits in and analysis begins~ The child can be seen as someones state of mind and life, they're hiding from something in their life waiting and wishing for it to leave them alone, hoping that the doll will protect them, they wish to see 'one last speck of light'.. as in one more sense of happiness and hope within there life, something they want and crave, they hold onto the doll, this represents the thing they crave, however they don't have it, and never will get it (or at least they feel they won't), as it says 'forever alone'.. they will never get the thing they want, instead they will continue to fear the thing they are hiding from, shutting their eyes tight to the world and the things, waiting to be saved, curled into a ball for protection and wanting to be loved ( ... )
