I think part of those four weeks of vacation should be spent this summer in NYC, as part of my "Hey, everyone, let's go to New York at the same time" plan.

I wish I had been as genius and clever on New Year's Eve. I had broken shoes and did not get them fixed (but also did not have to have a bible lecture) and ended up wearing tennis shoes everywhere, which made me feel a little shlubby. But I made up for it in other ways.

But I must ask, who is your fancy friend from New York? And like miss e.kat above notes, there will be lots of friends in NYC at the same time this summer, and you should come along too.

Ha! I seriously doubt you could ever look "shlubby," although I must admit to not really knowing what that means, but I have a good idea. Anyway, tennis shoes can be hot.

I might come to New York soon. And you would love my friend! She just moved there and is The Best Person Ever. I will communicate with you about this via myspace or something.

You should definitely come to New York soon. On top of your friend TBPE being here, there are many other acquaintances who would be happy to fete your arrival and visit. I think that "fete" is a real word that means "to celebrate joyously and with much drinking" as opposed to "shlubby" which is not a real word and which I think means something like "unkempt in an 80s teen movie kind of way." Except I was wearing black sneakers, which are a little harder to be shlubby in.
