I just realized that I really, really miss slam poetry. I miss the way it made me feel.

But I'm worried it'll be like an Alan Ball film; that I'll revisit it, and it'll feel pretentious and cheesy, nothing like how I remember it.

Nothing stopping you from dropping in and checking out the local scene. If nothing else, you might get a few drinks and a laugh out of it. I'm not sure what kind of vibe Miami usually has, but I totally remember a sort-of-gangsta-ish Asian dude whose stage name is...Asia. Hmm. This is why you should probably investigate before committing.

Too bad you're not closer to Orlando. I know some of the slammers up there, and they're really sweet.
