Is anyone else annoyed with the treatment President Elect Obama?

Just because we elected him President does not mean that he will instantly save the world.

Both candidates had good points and it was hard for me to pick who to vote for.

Bush is not the devil, but damn if he isn't an some sort of moron.

I voted for Obama, but I do not believe that he is the second coming and everything is going to be instantly fixed.

Everyone is worried about their job security because the economy stinks. It won't get better the instant a new president is elected, because that's just not how it works. The people who think that now we have a new president everything is going to become miraculously better overnight are people who helped get us into the mess in the first place by not knowing how things work.

If you are concerned about your profession just because there is a different president than perhaps what you would have liked, then you are being just as ridiculous. It has nothing to do with who got the position.

The comment about my job is because I'm Military... dems are not that fond of the military and we had a really bad cut from Clinton... I just hope President Elect Obama doesn't do something stupid. I've seen a couple news paper articles about how people are more secure in their jobs now that Obama will be President, just trying to put some contrast on that

Sorry, didn't mean to all-up-ons about it. I have A LOT of political fatigue because of the mass media for one, and being surrounded by students and faculty who refuse to just calm down and be reasonable about it, and boy I hear it from both sides!
As for military cuts, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

I just hope the choices made are sound ones overall, and I'd wish the same had McCain gotten the position.

I'm just so tired of hearing the whining from one side or another instead of just working towards the fixing the problems we have. Maybe it won't be such an issue once I'm out of academia.
