Growing up is really hard

I'm actually very curious that I may well start an informal survey of my own. How many people actually felt that your late adolescent years (17-19) were actually memorable? When I look at my kids, and all that they have to go through - adjusting to school life, the pace of their studies, physical/emotional changes, relationships and friendships, ( Read more... )

17-19

i was very active in school - so much that my studies took a fall. but the CCAs, oh they were great. they kept me sane.

i was a coxwain for dragonboat (before dragonboat became the in thing)
i was the president for english & chinese chess (yes i played both. played chinese chess to improve my english chess, cuz for chinese chess i had to literally look at all the characters before moving)
i was in the student council
i had a memorable 6 days camp at OBS

i was never in any relationship i think - i found both sexes attractive but never made any moves. haha

made lots of friends

yeah think thats about it la .. pretty memorable .. i could list more but i shall save it for an LJ entry of my own hehe ;)

Wow, it sounds memorable indeed. I suppose if I had thought harder of what went well, I might have felt that growing up wasn't so bad after all, but then I suppose the bitter times are somehow easier to remember!

Personally, not memorable at all. I have this tendency to look upon my personal past with disdain. Sometimes I have long drawn-out fantasies of how I would relive particular episodes I happen to recall of the past with my present self and cause a heckuva lot of trouble. Also have tremendous difficulty recalling the past on demand...
