Tell me about it. When told it's a potluck party, some came with potato chips or empty handed. Few actually would stay back to help you clean up. I always ask myself why bother to organize a party but it's usually others who want one
and got me involved. Too stressful for words 8-)

Here's a neat trick I observed: some people will come late and leave early.

I used to think it's such a waste for them because they don't enjoy the full party. But then, I realised that by doing so, you also don't have to do the setting up or clearing up!

I'd just refuse to invite the irritating people. But sometimes you can be so nice. Hmmph.

Hey! Just dropping a note to say thanks and great job at organising the party. Seriously, these things are not easy and there will always be comments.

Just ignore these remarks because you are the one who made this gathering happen. That in itself is no easy feat.

You're right. Actually whatever we do - in work and play - some people will always have their comments. It's important not to take things too seriously.

Thanks for helping! I loved that log cake, absoultely delicious...no wonder it's so expensive!

Point 1: When money is mixed with friendships, it can become quite tricky.
Point 2: Yes, some people just hate to be covered in soot and oil. hahaha.
Point 3: Erm thank you? LOL... Sorry I wasn't in a very good state after the party, so I forgot about the thank you. You know what I mean. But I must tell you that I really really enjoyed myself during the party.
Point 4: And so its very important to ask everyone who you actually missed. And if you do miss someone, its not your fault because in the first place, it means that the person did nothing to keep in touch with the rest of the group. Not your fault you know, unless he is the Queen of England or something...
