I *have* spoken a few...English, French, Italian, Gaelic, and (if you are of the political persuasion that says my mother tongue is a language and NOT a dialect) Doric.  I am trying to learn Maori, for my sins; my concentration, and indeed the rest of my brain, just laughs and says 'yeah, right'.  The Italian is gone, and Holy Mass has been uttered ( Read more... )

I hope to resuscitate my skills gradually.
You will, trust me. You've got solid grounds as for pronunciation and that's a rare gift; anything you want to learn I'm willing to teach you, little by little. As I need to get used to hearing English. :)

and Doric... mmm, you turn to teach me something new. Along with Maori. ;)

You know my French is on the critical list, darling, but it might limp on a little better with your coaxing.

Aaah, the day you meet Doric will be a day to remember :D

I really hope so. I'll do my best.

The word Doric itself is mesmerising. I'm sure I'll enjoy meeting it. ;)

Dear heart, you are too kind. My brain is about as functional as a 3-day old rice pudding...left in a warm place to grow green fur.

Oh, It's a very interesting question, I like it, I think I will post it to my LJ this evening.

Learn French hard!;)) It's such a beautiful language, that's a pity that I can't speak a word in it.:( I struggle with the English nowadays.:) I really need more practice and better vocabulary, I think.
