Fucccking HELL, that article is unbelievable. It's not just girls though, it keeps away pretty much anyone over the (mental or actual) age of 15....that's certainly what puts me off online gaming. Twats.
That article was rather enlightening. I think, in general that the places on the internet where I hang out are women-friendly, and women-friendly in the sense that you don't realise they are.
Well, at least I hope so.
So reading about articles like that surprise me. I had no idea the culture was like that.
The other point it makes me think about is that one of the reasons people kept disbelieving that she was a girl was because of the lengths some guys go to to pretend to be a girl online.
... What? Getting their girlfriends to talk over the chat for them? The hell? Why? So desperate-but-high-level guys will give them free stuff?
Wow, I think I know the internet, and then it turns out to be weirder than I thought.
(Why yes, I do take small, evil delight in warping your mind. But you live in Auckland now so I thinking of it more as "developing your mental shields".)
Seriously though, imagine if that comic was animated and came with that theme song off of The Untouchables (appropriately titled The Strength of the Righteous).

Also: that first exchange posted in the article is almost too retarded to be believable.
