Great. Let's make children feel fucking awful about who they are. Let's use deprivation and aversion therapy to make them do what we want them to do. Let's fuck them up from childhood so that when they do eventually feel so strongly that they NEED to be a female, they kill themselves because of their 'retraining'. Good one Zucker. Let's see how many deaths you are responsible for in the next 16 years.

Ugh. I actually find Zucker's ideas really strange, probably because when I was about 7 or 8, my (extremely homophobic and generally a total asshole) father sat me down and told me that sometimes little children are born with the wrong gender bodies. Like having a girl in a boy's body. And that when they grow up they can have a surgery to fix it. And if I wanted to be a boy, I could. And that was that. I'm now guessing that was because I ran the dolls over with the tanks... but that was more about me being a psychotic little bitch than anything transgender.
actually that was probably his bridghtest moment in a lifetime of asshattery, but yeah, I am really still much impressed with that one thing he got right.
That story fucking pissed me off SO MUCH. I mean, I could see it if they tried to make sure he had play dates with both boys and girls, and snuck some trucks in with the Barbie dolls or whatever, but no. They're torturing this young child, and it's not going to have the effect they're going for anyway. His mother even admits that he's getting good at lying about his activities so that his parents will be happy with his gender expression. All this is going to do is force him to live a guilt-ridden double life, and be unable to talk to his parents about any of it. Good god, people, let the kid have his barbies! Or her barbies. I'm not sure whether this kid is transgendered or just likes "feminine" things, but it doesn't matter. My roommate's boyfriend wears pretty peasant skirts sometimes, and is perfectly comfortable being a man; in his own words, "I just want to be pretty, damnit."
And, of course, Zucker has the perfect fucking excuse when these kids DO grow up and become transgender: it can't be that they were transgender all the fucking time, it's just they were being "fluid" and only "became" transgender later on. After years of living a fucking lie and ruining their relationships with their parents.
And learning that people don't love you for who you are, but how quickly you respond to what they want from you. And that hiding the things you love gets rewards.
Whats really scary here is that the nutjob has any access to children at all. He is teaching biase and intolerance at a very early age. Apparently he skipped class the day they reviewed the idea that sexuality is not controllable. Teaching people to hate themselves for being born in the wrong gender body is only going to increase the suicide rate, too bad we can't charge this jackass with murder each time.
