Unfortunately *that* bit is in book 2. But book 1 has many other awesomely bad things going for it.

In the movie, there was the part where her dad was like HAY, THOSE BOYS ARE, LIKE, MOONING US, YOU SHOULD GO BE FRIENDS WITH THEM.

Once done reading the books, I asked a fan friend where the spider monkey thing came from. I'll admit to seeing the midnight showing and knitting something red and black.....but I'm apparently immune to the dazzling.

Apparently SMeyer signed off on that line and thought it was awesome. I was confused by this.

I cannot wait for Breaking Dawn to make it to celluloid. That's all I want for Christmas in 2011.

When I put on my Film Critic glasses, the whole thing was weird. Like, it's so badly acted, and they've done such a poor job of translating a first-person-perspective novel into film, that the only reason you *know* Bella and Edward are deeply, deeply in love is ... because you already know the plot of the book. And given the random amounts of Blunt Force Exposition Dialogue they threw in anyway, it could've done with a bit more "ZOMG Edward's sooooo hawt" narration.
