So I've been on the hunt now for going on four months now. Mistakes have been made in tracking my nemesis, but the end game appears to be nigh at hand ( Read more... )

Does PSEG know you have another offer on the table? If so, that could persuade them to make a quicker decision and stop dicking around . . .

Also . . . I'm pretty sure the wife of one of my old co-workers works somewhere wherein they like to hire ex navy guys cause of the experience with nuclear stuff . . . I will hit up that attorney for you.

Also if you move to south jersey I would encourage you to hang out with me and my peeps! *that could be taken as a positive or negative I guess*

I told them I have another offer on the table, which is how I got them to move up the interview to this Thursday instead of next week.

Hopefully I can get at least a verbal yay or nay by Monday.

I would love to hang with you and your peeps if I end up in South Jersey.

Woo Hoo! We have a pretty decent sized rpi crew down here.

So I just emailed that attorney. His wife is an engineer at PECO/Exelcon at the Limerick Nuclear plant. Would like me to shoot her an email to see if they are looking for people?

I wish I thought of this sooner . . . Patti (PECO/Exelon) engineer said the guys who she would normally send resumes to is not in until Monday. She is going to try and find someone to send it though. You can send it to her directly or I can send it to her . . . which ever. jeanell dot trotter at gmail dot com

Yeah, I think going down there and saying what you wrote will get you the job. Hopefully the timing works out where you can hear from PSEG before the one in CT tells you it's too late. I also was kind of put in this situation, except the other "possible" job was just an interview and not a second interview where you know one person already likes you. But, I went for the safe thing and think I made the right choice.

And you can always go for that roadie career!

I have two thoughts. The expiring offer is a a classic move that recruiters try to press on to first time job seekers, typically new grads, but you may qualify.. (Almost) no company worth its salt is going to withdraw its offer just because you ask for more time. If anything, they'll want you more because you're clearly in demand. If there's heavy competition for the job you're offering it might be different, but if you're really their first choice, then asking for another week or two isn't going to hurt your chances. Unless you've already stretched that rope some, then they might be fed up with you ( ... )
