Lost season 1: A spoiler-free discussion

although it's probably a pointless endeavor. Last time I checked, I was the only breathing person in this old US of A who hasn't been keeping up with Lost, yet another J.J. Abrams creation. I just finished watching the eighth episode of the first season.

Followed a link here from akirad's lj, and just wanted to say I haven't watched any of Lost either, though I am in the holds queue at the library - only 24 more people need to check it out and return it, and then it's my turn! :) I've heard lots of good and bad things, so I'm a little... not concerned, really, but I certainly don't want to waste my time!

You should definitely watch the show. You can get the episodes quickly through any p2p service, although I understand if you're morally against that sort of thing :)

Don't take my review to heart, though. I am the biggest nitpicker I know, and as long as you don't take the show too seriously, I think you'll have a good time.

I'm not morally against it, it's just that the library is free and all (I also work 100 yards from it, so it's a snap to go pick things up and drop them off). And I'm nothing if not patient...

Like I said, I'm wary about taking any reviews to heart, because people's tastes are different. I can take a show on face value, but then sometimes... Sometimes I nitpick, too.

Case in point: I can't really watch CSI because the "know-it-all" character said (snootily) "The terminal velocity of a human body is 9.8 meters per second." Um, dude, no. That's the acceleration due to gravity. The terminal velocity of a human body is in the range of 120-140 mph (I think), which is just a tad faster.

My friends think I'm weird for that, but, oh well...

Oh my little tango butt, while you are actually making an attempt to watch that show, I have never seen one second of it. I've seen the previews but nothing more. Personally, I kinda don't care enough about the plot, it's predictable or at least it seems like it would be. So hah!

Was I just insulted? I don't feel insulted. Then again, I am a little dense when it comes to nuanced social interactions.

I'd recommend that you watch it just because some of the actors on that show are really good. And the story is good so far.

I have a sort of odd question...when one applies to university, she fills out a FAFSA, I know that, but what is the name of the other application process? The one for private schools? I know Combs talked about this a lot, but I have totally forgotten about it.
