There's nothing shameful about journaling, I don't think.

But try making sounds that even vaguely resemble "el-jay" at a party. You may as well have announced to the room that you spend your nights snuggled in the comforting silicon embrace of your Jessica Simpson blow-up doll while making sweet synthetic love to "Light my Fire." *shrug* It wasn't a party, and it wasn't death either. :p People not knowing what you're talking about is better than people scorning you openly. And if they do scorn simply because I have an LJ, well then I don't want to talk to them anyway. Silly people.

I've seen that look, oh yes.

Hell, I almost gave it to myself one evening while I was having dinner with a fellow LJer and we ran into two of my other LJ friends. It's very strange to introduce everyone not by their real names but as, "Hey Elspethkat, meet Shniktar and Carmila2222."

And I'm going to steal that carnivorous bacterium line sometime.

--I've done that, too.

Okay, so I was studying with a friend and we were both checking LJ at the same time. But never with more than one person!

It might have to do with age. Most people here know I blog and I am still thought of the way I was before - cool :)

I forgot to add above - it's the confidence and insouciance with which you say you blog that makes a difference. As with everything else in life.

I say it with a light blush and intense self-loathing ;)
