I wasn't gonna post tonight but Dustin is still awake so....here's a post.

That friend's cut is coming over the weekend.

If you're looking for some friend making things, see a couple of things below. I recommend the second one. It's different and fun...

Thanks for the links to the friending memes!

RE: dinner & Dustin. You could try calling the restaurant ahead of time, give them a quick summary of your situation and feel them out on options?

No problem.

That's an idea too. There are only a couple of places in town that have the free kids meals. The others charge for them.

I think just bringing home the food he doesn't eat is a good idea. I can never finish the portions they bring in one sitting and I usually just eat them later. Otherwise, you could just order appetizers for him, since those are usually a bit smaller and come without a side item. I guess it really depends on what restaurant you go to.

The appetizers thing is a good idea. I am running that one by the hubby later and see what he says. I usually end up bringing food home and taking it for lunch the next day, however I don't see Dustin eating leftovers.

Even though neither of my brothers are autistic, they do that sometimes with their food. Gorging on leftover food from the kitchen seems to be one of my brothers things after coming home from a friend's house or band gig. As he gets older and his food tastes develop, I might suggest putting anything you want to take for your lunches that were last night's dinner in a lunch box and covered. Of course, I don't know how well Dustin is at respecting boundaries, but it is worth a shot.

Dustin isn't a leftover person and sometimes neither am I. He doesn't respect anything. If he sees it and wants it, he takes it. It's getting frustrating.
